Joanne, or Jo as she prefers to be called, is excited to join the team at Aberdeen Osteopathy and Massage Clinic with a world of expertise. She has over two decades of experience as a Canadian Certified Athletic Therapist and, more recently, a Registered Osteopath. Jo brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to our clinic. Her journey in the field of osteopathy has been a remarkable one, marked by dedication, education, and a commitment to her patients’ wellbeing.
Jo’s impressive career as a Certified Athletic Therapist and Osteopath spans more than 20 years. She has dedicated her professional life to helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including athletes, recover from injuries, improve their performance, and enhance their overall quality of life. Her extensive experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the human body and its intricate biomechanics and interrelationships.
What sets Jo apart is her determination to expand her horizons and offer the best possible care to her patients. She pursued her post-graduate studies in osteopathy both in her native Canada and in England, gaining a well-rounded perspective on the practice. This international exposure has allowed her to incorporate diverse approaches and techniques into her treatment repertoire.
One of Jo’s strengths lies in her ability to customise treatment plans for each patient. She understands that no two individuals are the same, and therefore, their treatment should reflect their unique needs. Joanne utilises a wide variety of gentle osteopathic techniques, carefully selecting the most appropriate ones to address her patients’ specific conditions and concerns.
Incorporating her athletic therapy background and osteopathy into her practice, Jo places an emphasis on exercise rehabilitation and prevention. She believes that movement is an integral part of the healing process, and she works closely with her patients to develop manageable, straightforward or elaborate exercise programs that promote recovery and self-management.
Additionally, Jo is skilled in the application of taping and bracing techniques, which can provide support and stability to injured areas while allowing patients to maintain their mobility and comfort.
At Aberdeen Osteopathy & Massage Clinic, we are confident that Jo’s diverse skill set and extensive experience will be a valuable asset to our patients. She is here to assist you on your journey to improved health.
