The traditional system of medicine in India, Ayurveda is a complete holistic approach to maintaining health and wellbeing. The term Ayurveda is derived from the ancient Sanskrit words ‘Ayu’ meaning ‘life’ or ‘longevity’ and ‘Veda’ meaning ‘knowledge’ or ‘science’.
Ayurveda is grounded in the belief that health and wellness are dependent on a delicate balance between mind, body and spirit. Whilst the primary focus of Ayurveda is to promote and maintain good health, treatment can also be directed towards specific health problems. Ayurvedic treatment is natural and free from harmful side effects and seeks to treat the root cause of an illness using a system combining diet, herbal remedies, detoxification, Ayurvedic massage, yoga, and lifestyle routines.
At the clinic we are primarily focusing on providing massage therapies however we are happy to offer advice on other aspects of Ayurveda.
